Yes Your Blog is a Social Media Site !
The first place to start with your Social Media Footprint is a blog. You may not have viewed a blog as a social media. Your blog is a place where you can express yourself, principles, purpose, training and just about anything you want your audience to know about you or your business and it gives your guests a place to comment, ask questions and get to know you and your business better. Your blog can be used as an interactive website, a place to educate your guests, and a place to give them information, gifts or discounts of some sort for their name and email. It could be a newsletter, report, e-book, educational video series, webinar, free membership to something or an incentive like a discount on products or services.
Can you see how your blog will fit perfectly into your social media? View your blog like your home or business office online where you can entertain, train, educate and serve the need of your guest, client or customer, develop a relationship and even do business. So, is your blog a social media? It better be because it is just like inviting a potential customer or client to your office.
You will want your blog web address to be keyword loaded with the words people would search with to find your business. This will make all the difference for ranking with the search engines. For example, say you are a plumber and the name of your business is Drain Master. When people are searching for a plumber online they are not searching the term or word “Drain Master”. They will be searching for “Plumber Altanta” or whatever local area they are in and plumber. So “drainmaster.com” would not get found as well as “youratlantaplumber.com”. So always start by keyword loading your web address. We will go into more detail later on keyword research and how to use the google keyword tool. Just remember to put your location and what service you offer in the web address for your blog.
So now you have a web address (url) that is keyword loaded for your business and location. This is where most people really miss the mark and why they do not get results. The pages and posts on your blog must be optimized for the best results. This means there must be a good percentage of keywords on your pages or posts. Starting with the “headers”, there are three to be concerned with and that are H1, H2, H3. The number just refers to the size. All three must be on the page and the content must have enough keywords or you will not rank in a competitive market. Optimization is a skill that must be learned and we use software that’s helps us get the best results. A blog site is not static and must have new content added to it daily or weekly. Your blog is the place you will be diving traffic to from the internet searches, social medias, video, article, podcasts, bookmark sites, emails and other websites. Your blog site your personal social media that you control and is where you will capture your potential client or customer information, communicate with them what you have to offer, and educate them about your business. Think of it like this, you meet people on the social media sites, remember they are not designed for selling, and you deepen the conversation and relationship on your blog website. This is where the sale may come from and sales happen when you are liked, trusted and have given enough information to satisfy your customers need.
